The Somerset Chamber promotes and lobbies for business development within the county as part of its commitment to stimulating economic growth, both through domestic and international trade. From an international trade perspective, the Chamber provides support and guidance for those embarking on or considering export; promotes opportunities for new and existing exporters through trade missions and exhibitions; and organises numerous events to help those interested in trading overseas or expanding into new markets.
Other important focuses for the Somerset Chamber include lobbying for high-speed broadband connectivity; developing supply chain opportunities such as the Hinkley C Supply Chain project; campaigning for improvements to transport infrastructure; working with members to ‘Bridge the Gap’ between education and employment; and active participation in the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership.
