In April 2011 UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) announced the result of the competitive tender to deliver foreign direct investment (FDI) services, also known as inward investment, into the UK.
The tender was won by PA Consulting acting as prime contractor, with the BCC and OCO Global acting as sub-contractors. PA Consulting is a global professional services firm, with its headquarters in London and a strong UK regional presence. OCO Global is a specialist inward investment consultancy with its headquarters in Belfast.
The new team is operating as the UKTI Investment Services Team and all branding for the service is conducted on this basis.
The BCC is a key partner within the UKTI Investment Services team. The BCC and chamber network remit is to act as the glue to bind potential investors and potential local partners together, as an integral part of the new national service. This includes working with inward investment agencies, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), Local Authorities, Universities and Technology Innovation Centres, to ensure that they are integrated with the new national programme.
The BCC now have a team of Partnership Managers based in all regions of the country who manage this inward investment interface – providing connectivity between potential investors and local areas.
