Keeping International Trade on the Road
Maru International, based in Ravensthorpe, West Yorkshire, is an international freight forwarder with UK transport and warehousing facilities dealing with Eastern and Western Europe. It also has air and sea freight across the globe.
As a member of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, Maru International’s Import Operations Assistant uses the Chamber’s MY Export Hub to keep up to date with International Trading rules and procedures.
Gemma explains the future ambitions for the company: “Our goals at Maru are to push the company further. We’d like to expand and are looking at furthering exports and imports and developing the courier and air freight that we currently do.”

Gemma described the importance of Chamber membership and the advice and expertise on offer through MY Export Hub: “It’s definitely important to us with the export documents that we produce, and it lets us access the information that we need for each country. There are always people that we can call to provide us with all the information we need to be able to help and advise our customers as well.”
Gemma attends many of the exporting courses, including the British Chambers of Commerce accredited core courses: “The courses widen our knowledge, again so that we can advise our customers and so we can qualify in as much as possible to gain the knowledge we need to be able to operate globally.”
