The original Chamber of Commerce for Sussex was incorporated in July 1945 as “The Sussex Engineers & Manufacturers Association” in a small office in Brighton. The Memorandum of Association of SEMA was a non-profit making company limited by guarantee “to promote, further and maintain the cooperation of producer engineers and manufactures of the Sussex area”. Today, Sussex Enterprise, the Accredited Chamber of Commerce for East and West Sussex still follows the ethos of that Memorandum with its core belief remaining in supporting our members with their businesses endeavours.
