The British Chambers of Commerce and Santander have entered into a partnership to support UK SME exporters.
Santander is partnering with the British Chambers of Commerce on their online export platform, Export Britain, designed to showcase opportunities in key international markets, and link UK exporters to the support available from British Chambers and their partners around the world.
Santander works in partnership with businesses to help them achieve their ambitions and prosper. The Santander Group is committed to supporting international trade and growth opportunities and has more than 14,000 branches worldwide and a network of international alliance partners. To support trade capabilities across the globe, Santander has an International Desk in each of the markets it operates in, dedicated to helping customers who want to grow their business overseas.
The partnership is being launched during the International Festival for Business, asix–week festival hosted by the City of Liverpool, designed to promote international trade between the UK and the rest of the world, which both organisations are lending their support to, Santander as a key partner. It also comes at the start of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, which brings an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the opportunities for British business in this high-growth market, in which Santander is the third largest privately-owned bank.
David Riches, Executive Director, Commercial Services, at the British Chambers of Commerce said:
“We are delighted to welcome Santander as a valuable partner in the work of the British Chambers of Commerce and the Accredited Chamber Network in supporting UK SME exporters and driving export growth as a sustainable way to drive growth in the UK economy.”
Commenting on the partnership, John Carroll, Head of International at Santander Corporate and Commercial Banking, said:
"We are delighted to be working with the British Chamber of Commerce and Export Britain to help UK companies access information about starting or developing their exporting business. Together with our market-leading and innovative solutions like the Trade Portal and the Trade Club, this is another way in which we can provide support for companies breaking into new markets."
